Auckland Council’s Appointments, Performance Review and Value for Money Committee approved a new appointment to the board of Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA) at its August meeting. Following a rigorous selection process seeking highly qualified and experienced directors, Jennah Wootten has been appointed a director of the RFA board.

Jennah has extensive experience in leading and delivering commercially successful mega events. She was Chief Executive of the highly successful World Masters Games in 2017 and has worked on some of Auckland’s most high-profile events.

Jennah is currently General Manager Partnerships and Communications at Sport New Zealand. Her earlier roles include General Manager, Destination and Manager Major Events at Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) with a lead role in Auckland’s Rugby World Cup 2011 programme, the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup bid and developing Auckland’s first Major Events Strategy. 

Her appointment will take effect from 1 November 2019.

RFA board directors Joanna Perry and Fabian Partigliani have been reappointed for a further term, while Lisa Bates and Geoff Clunes will be retiring from the RFA board at the end of October.  

Auckland Council’s Appointments, Performance Review and Value for Money Committee is responsible for all board appointments to council-controlled organisations, in accordance with the council’s Appointment and Remuneration Policy for Board Members and the Local Government Act.
